How to Clean the Plastic Sheet After Removing the Protective Film

1. Prepare for Basic Cleaning to Avoid Secondary Contamination

After removing the protective film, first prepare cleaning tools and supplies. Choose a soft cloth or sponge, avoiding rough materials that could scratch the plastic sheet surface. Use a neutral-formula cleaning agent to prevent acidic or alkaline components from corroding the surface. Before cleaning, gently wipe away any surface dust to prevent scratches caused by dust particles rubbing against the surface, preparing the surface for subsequent cleaning and ensuring a gentle cleaning process that doesn't damage the plastic sheet.

2. Targeted Treatment of Residual Adhesive Residue

Some protective film may leave adhesive residue after removal. In this case, use a gentle method to remove it. 1. Apply a neutral detergent to a cloth and gently press it onto the glue residue, letting it sit for a moment to allow the detergent to penetrate and soften the glue. Then, slowly wipe in the same direction, avoiding back-and-forth rubbing which could spread the glue. If the glue residue is stubborn, apply a small amount of medical alcohol and gently wipe in the same way to gradually remove it. Do not use sharp tools to scrape it off, as this may damage the plastic board surface.

If there are stubborn stains such as oil or water on the board surface, adjust the cleaning method according to the type of stain. For oil stains, add a small amount of warm water to a neutral detergent, dampen a cloth with the solution, and gently wipe. The warm water enhances the detergent's activity, better breaking down the oil. For dried water stains, first cover them with a damp cloth to soften them, then wipe with detergent. Use moderate pressure during cleaning, avoiding excessive pressure on the board surface to ensure that the stains are removed while preserving the integrity of the board surface.

After cleaning, thoroughly dry the board surface with a clean, dry cloth to prevent residual moisture from evaporating and forming new water stains or causing the surface to become damp. If a glossy finish is desired on the plastic board surface, apply a dedicated plastic board conditioner after drying and wipe evenly with a cloth to enhance the gloss and form a protective layer, delaying the adhesion of subsequent stains. After maintenance, avoid placing heavy or sharp objects on the board surface immediately; allow the conditioner to be fully absorbed to maintain the board's cleanliness and good condition.
