How to Judge the Quality of Carpet Protective Film

1. Judging by the Feel of the Material
High-quality Carpet Flake Protective Film should feel resilient, resist breaking easily when gently pulled, and rebound slowly after stretching without noticeable deformation. If it feels stiff, brittle, or cracks or breaks with even the slightest effort, it indicates insufficient toughness and poor quality. Also, check that the film surface is smooth and flat, free of visible wrinkles, impurities, or bubbles. Low-quality films often have a rough surface and small particles, which can affect the fit and protective effect.2. Judging by the Permeability
You can use a simple test to determine the permeability of the film. Drop a small amount of water or a common liquid on the film surface and let it sit for a while to observe whether the liquid penetrates. A high-quality film retains liquid for a long time, leaving no signs of penetration and remaining dry after wiping. If liquid quickly penetrates the other side of the film or leaves noticeable water stains after wiping, the film's permeability is poor and cannot effectively protect the carpet from stains and moisture.
3. Judging by Abrasion Resistance
Use an everyday object, such as the edge of a key or a hard card, to gently scratch the film surface. High-quality films are resistant to scratches, or only leave minor marks that fade with wiping. If scratches become noticeable immediately, damage occurs, or even the underlying material is exposed, the film's wear-resistant layer is of poor quality and will easily lose its protective properties due to foot traffic and friction. Additionally, observe the film's edges. High-quality films have clean edges, free of chipping or delamination.
4. Judging by Adhesion Stability
Cut a small piece of the protective film and apply it to a flat carpet surface. Press briefly and then gently peel it off. High-quality films should be peeled evenly, leaving no noticeable adhesive residue on the carpet, and maintain a reasonable level of adhesion after reapplying. If the adhesive layer flakes off during peeling, leaving significant adhesive stains, or the adhesiveness decreases significantly after reapplying, the adhesive formula is unstable, which can not only stain the carpet but also prevent long-term protection.
