Re-application Guide – Carpet Protective Film

• Adhesive Properties Analysis:
  The adhesive strength of this protective film depends primarily on the pressure-sensitive adhesive backing. It delivers stable adhesion upon first application and maintains a tight fit, but adhesion gradually weakens with reuse—especially after contact with dust or fibers.
• Feasibility of Reapplying:
  Repeated reapplication is generally not recommended. Once removed, the adhesive surface is easily contaminated by carpet fibers, dust, and other impurities, making it difficult to maintain a secure fit. Low-tack products can be reused briefly, but adhesion drops rapidly.
• Factors Affecting Reapplying:
  Dry, dusty environments and high humidity accelerate adhesive contamination. Long-pile carpets cause fibers to stick to the adhesive, reducing grip. Improper removal force or angle may also damage the backing, further limiting reusability.
• Suitable Re-Applications:
  Reapplication is acceptable only for immediate, short-term adjustments (e.g., correcting misalignment during installation). For any subsequent area changes or prolonged protection—especially in renovation projects—use a new film to ensure consistent coverage.
• Precautions for Repeated Applications:
  If reuse is unavoidable, clean the adhesive backing with a dry, soft cloth to remove impurities. Ensure the carpet surface is clean and dry, and avoid humid conditions. Replace the film promptly if adhesion drops significantly to prevent shifting and loss of protection.
